ABOUT ME

My name is Ikmet KaraChousein and I am a graduate of the University of the Aegean. I earned a Bachelor of Geography and many Certificates in Geographic Information Sciences and Web Development. I am currently residing in Xanthi and I am working as a Cartographer – Web Developer for two companies: Agrodasiki Synergasia and GROVE PC. My goal is to make the World (Wide Web) a better place by designing beautiful projects every time.

WHAT I DO

GIS

A geographic information system (GIS) is a framework for gathering, managing, and analyzing data. Rooted in the science of geography, GIS integrates many types of data. It analyzes spatial location and organizes layers of information into visualizations using maps and 3D scenes. With this unique capability, GIS reveals deeper insights into data, such as patterns, relationships, and situations—helping users make smarter decisions.

GRAPHIC DESIGN

Graphic design is art with a purpose. It involves a creative and systematic plan to solve a problem or achieve certain objectives, with the use of images, symbols or even words. It is visual communication and the aesthetic expression of concepts and ideas using various graphic elements and tools.

3D MODELING

Three-dimensional (3D) models represent a physical body using a collection of points in 3D space, connected by various geometric entities such as triangles, lines, curved surfaces, etc. Being a collection of data (points and other information), 3D models can be created manually, algorithmically (procedural modeling), or by scanning. Their surfaces may be further defined with texture mapping.

WEB DEVELOPMENT

Web development is the building and maintenance of websites. It’s the work that happens behind the scenes to make a website look great, work fast and perform well with a seamless user experience. Web developers, or ‘devs’, do this by using a variety of coding languages. The languages they use depends on the types of tasks they are preforming and the platforms on which they are working.
